Mask/Dollmaking

Project Description

Mask Making and Dollmaking

I LOVE making masks. Actually, I LOVE working with papier maché! I find it soothing to tear the strips of paper, dip them in silky white glue, and run them though my finger before smoothing them over the surface of facial features. I am currently creating a vase with papier maché to use in an altered book piece I am working on.

I will add my dolls soon. The ones I’ve done so far are quite simple. They were done as part of a Women’s Creativity Retreat, and I value them as going through the process with the other women was so joyful. I have bought the materials for a new doll I am very excited to make. She will represent what I envision to be the personification of the Essence of Creativity. How much fun is that??
